ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Rome man is behind bars after being charged with sexual abuse. Sheriff's deputies said they arrested Michael Johnson, 34, following an investigation into the sexual assault of a child earlier this month.

Johnson is charged with first degree sex abuse. He was taken to Oneida County Jail without bail.

The victim was offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center.
