CHICAGO, Sept. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Imagination, a Chicago-based marketing agency, was named the 2012 Content Marketing Agency of the Year by the Content Marketing Institute. The award was presented at the Orange Awards Gala on Sept. 6, 2012, following the three-day Content Marketing World 2012 held in Columbus, OH. The honor is the latest in Imagination's history of award-winning work, which has been recognized by FOLIO: The Magazine for Magazine Management, Association Media & Publishing, and Web Marketing Association, among others.
Ten agencies from the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia were finalists for the Agency of the Year award. Three awards were given based on agency size; Imagination won in the 50+ employee category. More than 30 brand marketers and content marketing experts acted as judges, and entries were judged on "a continuous track record of creating outstanding custom content." In addition to overall achievement, the content marketing agency finalists were also judged on "an impressive record of revenue growth over the last three years" and their ability to tell a story of what the "agency of the future" will look like.
"When I started the agency 18 years ago, my dream wasn't to be the biggest custom content company, but to be the best," said James E. Meyers, president and CEO of Imagination. "This award is a tribute to the many great people who have worked and who work today at Imagination. I am inspired every day by their passion, creativity and dedication to providing the highest quality work for our clients."
In announcing the award, judges commented that Imagination is "an incredible, well-run company that shows great insight and creativity for their clients," has "a passionate workforce and it shows," and provides "clear expertise on creating content for both print and digital channels, a rarity in today's agencies."
To highlight its passionate and talented employees, high-quality work, portfolio of clients and upbeat workspace in Chicago's West Loop, Imagination submitted a video application for award consideration. In an effort to continually showcase the company's capabilities, Imagination produces Orange, a biannual thought-leadership magazine targeted at chief marketing officers and content marketing leaders. The publication is also available as an iPad app. The Orange blog and monthly e-newsletter are an extension of Orange and cover topics including content strategy, social media marketing and digital media.
Imagination's video application also touched upon content strategies that were designed for an impressive, wide-ranging client roster. Current clients include General Mills, Wells Fargo, Aveda, Northern Trust, U.S. Bank, Lowe's Home Improvement, Western Union, Chick-fil-A, Walgreens, US Foods, Project Management Institute and the National Federation of Independent Business.
